![]() won't people just run around wearing those? There are already existing "awesome" looking armours that legions of people already like. NWN EASY RENAME ROBE SKINif it's a popular armour skin in the DDO store, it'll be worn by a lot of people if it's a cool/funny/hillarious combo (starter rags with an uber epic robe) then people will copy that too. wallpapering (sorry, can't think of a better word) Really, I can't see that much of a difference between this and what Turbine is doing (excluding the $$$/TP factor). To me: the two-slot system isn't really customization as it is. Changing the individual aspects of the armour that you want to wear, is customization. changing the blue to shiny black and the gold to a mat black. To me, customizing is looking at an existing set of armour, and changing the elements that I don't like. To me, I really don't see how that is "customizing" anything. If I understand this 2 slot system correctly, you would have a slot for a suit of armour that you wanted to wear with the stats that you wanted, with another slot for a suit of armour with the look of how you wanted it to look? So, you could have an uber-tricked out DT breastplate for stats, with starter rags as your look. Again: I didn't mean to troll or anything like that I honestly can say that I've never seen this suggested before. pun intended.Īlright, I admit it: there are now people who wanted this. The current cookie cutter re-skin system is not going to cut it. I would be happy with either a standard appearance customization feature like most MMO's ship with or costume slots + dyes (and hopefully some ability to scroll through gear and hue it) they basically accomplish the same thing but go about it in slightly different ways. Basically it address' both of the top two asked for features in one shot. The thing is LOTRO style costume and dying might be the best compromise, it will let us choose a base armor that looks kinda how we want, and then change the colors to exactly what we want. because 2 or 3 of the looks will become the most popular and you will see lots of people from harbor to end game wearing those. (LOTRO has dyes which result in the same basic functionality) the option they came up with is something literally NO ONE asked for and is so cookie cutter that it will only result in LESS unique looking player appearances. and without being greedy I think they should impliment BOTH. I agree that the top most asked for seems to be giving us a color palette to hue or n"dye" and letting us scroll through overmesh (gear) and base under skins would be the greatest of all options. I'm guessing you don't get around much, this (LOTRO style costume slots) is easilly in the top two of every appearance customization thread, I have a dozen or so in my subscribed threads if you want me to get you pointed in the right direction (or hey even easier for me, use search) and is constantly repeated in those threads by lots of people. You are the only person whom I've seen want this. No need for 2 slots when you could have this. Not even from those who care about what they look like in the gameĪnd if it was suggested, those who do care about what they look like, have always pined for the customization like in the start up screen. I've never heard of this "two-slot" suggestion. No extra art work required to make new "looks" as we already have what we want anyway.Īs mentioned before, buy the extra apperance tab from store and sell extra art work looks in store as well for the extra $$. NWN EASY RENAME ROBE CODEit would be so easy to code as your only adding 1 new tab to ui and using everything that is existing in game atm. and its the system i've being hoping for for ages ( i already have the items i want to show off, now i'll not be able to look like i wanted to :( ) Its that way in lotro and it works a treat. Its a good idea, one of many floating around almost all of them better than what Turbine has planned. Step in the right direction Devs, but in my opinion, this new set is more for a a group of folks who want to be uniform (like everyone in the guild wear this type ) and should be in addition to the above (though I do like seeing more skin from the new set.belly buttons! Let's bejewel them now!)īut HOW can poor old Turbine profit from this method? :p Heck, call it the trans-dimensional armour slot or something, and make us earn it (or buy from the store )). That's about as succinct as I can put it. She has a Dragontouched robe in functional slot for augmentation benefit. Do that, and we'll be tons happier (once again, for those who care about such things).Įx: Wizard has the Robe of Duality from The Catacombs in looks slot, because she likes the creepy look it has. One is how you wish to look, the other is for functionality. As simply put as possible: I've said it before in the past.all that those of us who care about looks really want is two armour slots, and two helmet slots. ![]()
